10 Days In Tokyo (Finale)

December 29, 2009 · Leave a Comment

Last entry.

I’m here to solve the mystery on who was the one holding onto the 乌龟王八 ticket.

It was my mum.

Hahahaha!!

As expected, when I saw the tickets with the different characters printed on them, I snatched the one with Tinkerbell on it.

And Min snatched the one with the blue Monster Inc. monster.

Leaving my mum with the one with the 乌龟王八 Crush on it.

And the two of us were poking fun of her because of her ticket.

Hahaha!!!!

When we were in the Disney monorail on our way to Disney Sea, I kept saying, ‘Oh!! Disney Land!~’, in a sing- song manner.

And Min got irritated with me because she kept correcting me that it was Disney SEA, not Disney LAND.

Disney Sea was more of the other characters and Disney productions as compared to Mickey and friends.

20,000 Leagues Under The Sea, Journey To The Center Of The Earth, Indiana Jones, Arabian Nights, Little Mermaid’s World and other stuff.

Journey To The Center Of The Earth & Indiana Jones

It was a whole lot better than Disney Land Hong Kong.

Triton’s Kingdom (Little Mermaid)

Oh ya, I forgot to mention that it was drizzling heavily and 8- 9 degree celcius.

We were so cold that we had to share my pair of gloves.

And because of that, my right hand froze.

We were all drenched and cold when we were doing the outdoor rides.

But obviously, we didn’t care.

Min got abit high, screaming at the slightest drops during the roller coaster ride.

Yes, very self entertaining.

Arabian Nights

The architecture and decorations were truly beautiful.

As you can see, I attempted to take the ‘Fly Me Away’ photo again.

It was Christmas-y all around.

Which made me really really happy.

Disney Sea at night.

Throughout the day, I was abit left behind.

:(

Because I was busy waiting for the right moment to get the perfect photo.

So, my mum and Min were very much ahead of me, and I was left to run after them.

Which made me realise that running in the rain with the wind blowing in my face could feel so very, very cold.

After a long, wet and COLD day in Disney Sea, we went back to the comfort of our room.

Min came over to join in the Oden and beer feast.

Even though it was a really simple meal, the company made it totally enjoyable.

Hope you have enjoyed whatever I’ve written and the photos I have taken.

Wish You Were There~

10 Days In Tokyo (Part III)

December 28, 2009 · Leave a Comment

Back to ‘10 Days In Tokyo’.

The 6th day in Tokyo was spent in Kamakura.

The takopachi sold at Gindaco are considered one of the best in the area.

And F.Y.I, there’s an outlet in Ion, Singapore.

But I haven’t gotten the chance to try it.

There’s this shop selling Japanese animation collectibles.

Totoro, spirits from Princess Mononoke, and Ponyo.

And there’s the snacking while walking around part.

The thing in Japan is that, you don’t really see people eating while walking.

Because it is seen as bad manners.

But who cares!!

We went to Tsurugaoka Hachiman- gū.

It’s the most important Shinto shrine in Kamakura

You can see from the photos the change in seasons.

From autumn to winter yet- to- come.

Autumn leaf, the hand- washing procedure that we have done so many times, one of the many squirrels that you see running around, and the place where we buy our good luck charms.

And here comes lunch and dinner.

Day 7

Day 7 was spent with mum, as Min and Eve went to meet their friends who happened to also be Arashi- siaos.

The two of us explored the shopping areas in Ikebukuro.

Loads and loads of yummy looking food.

And the cakes look so pretty!!!

Day 8

Day 8 was spent in Shibuya.

Went to Tower Records.

It’s this 9 storey building where they sell whole loads of cds, and books.

Went for tea at L’Occitane.

Yes, the L’Occitane that sells skin care products.

And I recently found out that they do not have L’Occitane cafes in Singapore.

Bummer!

Grilled cheese sandwiches were delightful.

And we spent the afternoon looking at people crossing Shibuya Crossing.

Went to shop at 109.

Love those two lugage bags in the photo.

Wanted to get them really badly.

But it would really hurt if I were to get a dent or scratches on the case.

Final ’10 Days In Tokyo’ entry coming soon.

Here’s a sneak peek.

And guess who got the乌龟王八 ticket?

Happy Birthday Cousin !

December 28, 2009 · Leave a Comment

It was Sophia’s birthday last Sunday.

And she has just turned 21.

To some it is a birthday party.

And some call it a Family Gathering.

But to some of us, it’s more like a wedding.

No, nobody got married.

It’s that some of the photo taking procedures reminded us of wedding dinners that we attend.

Don’t get me wrong.

I love weddings.

And I’ve got to admit that it was a good family gathering.

Happy Birthday You!!

Merry Christmas

December 25, 2009 · Leave a Comment

This Christmas eve and Christmas eve’s eve were kind of spent well.

Let’s start with the 23rd December.

Y.H and I finally went for our long awaited dim sum breakfast at Red Star.

And we ended up at Illuma’s arcade playing ‘ Spot The Difference’.

Went back home to prepare for early Christmas dinner with ’Laine and Zhiwei.

Dinner was good, and ended up playing mahjong till 11 plus.

Christmas Eve.

Accompanied Johan to Alexandra Hospital for his check-up.

Met Margaret for breakfast while he was at it.

Johan and I went over to ‘Laine’s house again to play mahjong.

So, in conclusion, I just spent Christmas eve watching ♥Tinkerbell♥ movie marathon ( Yes, I’m a fan of Tinkerbell) on Disney channel and playing mahjong.

Merry Christmas All.

That’s ‘Laine hiding behind the plushies.

Dear Santa,

December 21, 2009 · Leave a Comment

Am interrupting ‘10 days in Tokyo’ for a national emergency.

Dear Santa,

I know this is abit last minute, but internet is alot faster than snail mail. And I believe you’ve probably gotten all the presents ready. Since you’re there sitting in your comfy armchair (probably doing nothing) waiting for the eve of Christmas to arrive, why not have a look at my list.

I’ve been good this year even though alot of things had happened. I learned from the experiences, and do not regret any parts of it. I do not see why I should beat around the bush going into detail about  how good I’ve been. So, here’s the list.

———————————————————-

  1. Jejung
  2. Landrover Defender.
  3. $$$
  4. Plane ticket to Egypt
  5. Plane ticket back from Egypt to Singapore
  6. A house made of glass by the sea (hopefully Maldives).
  7. A chew toy made of beef beef for Princeton that will last for a year.
  8. dE@r’s wishlist to come true. (Even though I might get hurt)

———————————————————-

  • If  I can only decide on one item, please consider either no.1 or no.8. And If you choose to make no.8 come true, please get no.1 ready for me. To make things less complicated, what I mean is that no.8 and 1 kind of comes as a package. You can leave no.1 in a box in my room. Please make sure that the box is comfy enough for him to stay in for the night. No need for vacuum packaging (wouldn’t want him to suffocate) .Or maybe you can just tuck him in bed with me. Here’s a picture of him just in case you do not know.

  • And if you’re planning on no. 2, please let it come with a driving license, and whatever road taxes already paid for.
  • Trip to Egypt and glass house by the sea. I would totally appreciate it if you get my hotel reservations and furnitures ready respectively.
  • As for Princeton, if you can’t make a chew toy out of beef beef, just give him anything that he can chew on that will last until next christmas. He isn’t very picky.

That’s the end of my list. I have to say that it’s not as complicated as you thought it might be. And wouldn’t take alot of your time. Do have a safe journey on the eve of Christmas.

Loadsa ♥,

xxsh@nxx

P.S: I promise I’ll be good IF you bring me at least 1 item from the list :)

P.P.S: No, it’s not bribery. Just a simple suggestion:))

….next year.

10 Days In Tokyo (Part II)

December 21, 2009 · Leave a Comment

Part 2 of 10 Days In Tokyo is for the Hello Kitty lovers out there.

Min, Eve, my mum and I went to Sanrio Puroland a.k.a Hello Kitty Land.

Totally girly. Alot of kids.

They were playing Jejung & Micky’s ‘Melody and Harmony’ MTV on repeat in the main souvenir store.

♥ Jejung

It was all Hello Kitty, Hello Kitty and Hello Kitty.

And other characters.

Hello Kitty furnitures.

Kitty boat ride where you can see all the characters of Sanrio.

Photo taking with the characters.

Zhitai got his chance of meeting the characters too.

For your information, that’s a sugar bun bun bunnie.

Not one of the Cinnamoroll characters.

Why does the Sugar Bunnies look more like dogs than rabbits?!

She’s so short (fine! the costume made whoever’s inside appear short) that I had to squat beside her to have a proper photo taken.

The Parade.

The annoying thing is that everything is in Japanese, other than the christmas songs which are mostly in English.

But we went for the Cinnamoroll show because they had subtitles, and my favourite Sanrio characters are from the Cinnamon bunch.

Cinnamoroll, Espresso, Cappucino, Mocha, Milk and Chiffon.

They are dogs. NOT RABBITS!

We spent the whole day in Sanrio Land.

Many things that we wanted to buy. But we just couldn’t part with our money.

Dinner time!

Just in case you do not understand Chinese.

王八王子 means Prince Bastard.

It the name of a certain place in Tokyo.

As you can see, I’m a little lazy to blog about the Japan trip because loading of photos takes time.

And I’m tired of waiting.

Anyway, stay tuned for the last two entries.

10 Days In Tokyo (Part I)

December 20, 2009 · Leave a Comment

Finally settled the photos.

And here’s the first part of 10 Days In Tokyo.

Left for Tokyo on the 2nd December 2009.

Flight was at 2320hrs.

Yes, Zhitai had the honour of travelling with me again.

Day 1

It was 12 degrees and drizzling, and no umbrella.

 Wet, cold and hungry.

No fear of starving ‘cos there’re eateries everywhere.

Day 2

The day I wear too little clothing.

Min and Eve finally arrived.

Met Rachael, and the 5 of us went to Asakusa’s famous landmark, Sensōji ( also known as Asakusa Kannon).

The place where I realised I had a ‘fan club’.

Day 3

The 4 of use went to Odaiba with Eve’s friends Jo and Mary.

Rainbow Bridge, Fuji TV Building and a few shopping complexes.

Daikanransha (ferris wheel) and Palette Town.

Our first look at the Hello Kitty stuff in their shops.

Hello Kitty fans will probably go bankrupt in these shops.

Day 4

Went to Meiji Jingu Shrine.

Ice- cream for breakfast was love.

Sundays are good days for wedding ceremonies.

We saw a total of 3 wedding ceremonies being carried out the morning we were there.

It was good to have Zhitai there, because I used him to bribe the little girl into taking a photo with Min.

Loads of shops selling cool stuff in Harajuku.

Tempura for lunch.

Travelled down to Ginza to people- watch.

And for tea.

End of Part I.

Hello People!

Ark Hotel, Ikebukuro to be exact.

Currently at the lobby’s internet station.

They seriously should have a chair at the station.

Colder than expected all thanks to the rain.

Has been drizzling since this morning.

Zhitai is here with me since his daddy can’t be here.

Min and Eve will be here tomorrow morning.

Can’t wait!

Will be back sooner than expected.

Take care everyone!
